Must See Video Tour |
The way I figure it, this coming event or series of games is an International Baseball Series or at least or best will one day be so recognized.
What do you think am I wrong headed on this thing called Classic?
Webster's pondering portrays a classic in this fashion: 1: a literary work of ancient Greece or Rome 2a: a work of enduring excellence; also: its author b:an authoritative source 3: a typical or perfect example 4: a traditional event(a football classic)
I'm sorry folks but by all established standards this World competition does not as of now rate being recognized nor reported with such a title at this time. Maybe in time, yes.
The next reported schedule for this world baseball competition is for the year 2009. There will be much wide spread anticipation of this next forthcoming event.
The World Classic as currently constituted must by all rights be an International Baseball Series sanctioned by the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) and created by Major League Baseball.
Worldwide this Baseball International Series will garner competition at a level of probable unprecedented hoopla and fanfare.
Competitive nature of the societies and the strong support comprising each competing nation or region of the world may rise to a level unparalled in the annals of the sport of baseball.
Rule regulations and spirit of fair play will be a closely watched and talked about subject. Within the context of multi-national competition disputes and close calls by the umpires will garner exploding pent up fever pitch outbursts.
Bring on the clashes and may the stoutest of the stout and the very best of the gold gloves and kings of the hitting grab the Championship Crown.
Growing the game of baseball around the globe is the primary objective of the World Classic. By expanding the competitive field of the 2013 tournament, we are demonstrating our commitment to this goal and reinforcing that the World Classic is the premier showcase of baseball around the globe,” said Major League Baseball Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig. “The tournament is a unique experience for fans to witness the excitement of this great game and I encourage organizations around the world to bid for the chance to host this wonderful baseball event.
Call it what you will it is not a Classic this mounting of teams doing battle in a tournament of a Baseball International Series or an International Baseball Series should never be referenced as Classic.
The expansion of the World Baseball Classic from 16 to 28 teams is a testament to the sport’s continuing growth in participation and popularity around the world,” said Major League Baseball Players Association Executive Director Michael Weiner. “The overwhelming fan, player and media support bestowed upon the first two World Classics is at the root of this decision, which makes the World Baseball Classic a truly global or international competition. I am only trying to point out the misnomer of calling it a Classic. We certainly hope this will become the event to which we will attach greatness just as we have done with our own baseball 2009 World Series.
The game of baseball has become truly an institution for which we proudly proclaim with our fan loyalty. Our Baseball World Series is the creme-de-creme of the best there is and it is proclaimed throughout the land.
The genesis of Baseball International Series was born with a Baseball International Series 2009 was not a World Classic so while HAVING initially proclaimed and naming it as a Classic is mislabeling of this Series of baseball games.
"Tell Me Honestly, Have You Figured It Out Yet Really Why They Are Still Calling It A Classic?"
"I Think It IS A Baseball International Series Old Shoe You Tell Me What You Think?"
The results reported for these past International Baseball Series games of 2006 and 2009 won by Japan was a lesson on the theory of playing small ball as a team concept and the how to Play To Win.
One way to divert into multiple streams of income production was for Major League Baseball to blandly acquiesce with elimination of baseball from the Olympics. Baseball in the Olmpics was of no real value monetarily for MLB.
Eureka the establishment of what was billed as being something Classic pertaining to baseball. This was or could be a wedge in the door readily supported and generated as a brain child of organized Major League Baseball.
Organized and supported within the concept of an International brotherhood of baseball money monopoly controllers and thus a whole new World Wide sanctioned baseball conglomerate.
It as if the handwriting is on the wall America forgoes our legacy of many facets of American heritage to join all things of the World in the name of One World Order.
The future world class competition just possibly may well transcend and even replace our uniquely heretofore American generated Baseball World Series of The United States Of America.
The future will possibly become and recognized as the Baseball International Series. If that change happens then our baseball major league rules and our major league basebll diamond rules will require some modifications to accept international accepted rules.
To name it as a Baseball or World Classic to my way of thinking is a misnomer and will one day be changed and known as a Baseball International Series.
Would you be so brave as to voice your opinion on this Baseball International Series question? Keep in mind what is now being billed as a Classic? How can this possibly be the proper definitive description of a whole set of Nations playing baseball during and entire series?

The Gnesis of a New Baseball Event
The tournament was announced in May 2005. Major League Baseball had been attempting to create such a tournament for at least two years; negotiations with the players' union (MLBPA) and with the team owners had held the plan back. Owners, were concerned about their star players being injured in international play before the beginning of spring training, and the professional season. This was a concern for the MLBPA as well, but their primary objection was with drug testing. MLB wanted the stricter Olympic standards in place for the tournament, while the union wanted current MLB standards in place. Eventually, a deal was reached on insurance for player contracts and a fairly tough drug testing standard. MLB teams would not be able to directly block their players from participating.
Similarly, Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) and its players' association had a disagreement over participation in the tournament. While the owners initially agreed to the invitation, the players' union was concerned about the time of year the tournament was scheduled to take place, as well as their right to be better represented for the 2009 tournament. On September 16, 2005, after four months of negotiations, NPB officially notified the IBAF and MLB they had accepted the invitation Now About This World Baseball Classic read the following three headings which clearly and more concisely defines and depicts the Agencies in control of this future activity
