Baseball Classic 2009
Sixteen Nations Baseball Tournament March 5-23, 2009
BASEBALL INTERNATIONAL SERIES 2009
World Baseball Classic 2009: Major League Baseball owners of the United States are sponsoring and promoting what is billed as a World Baseball Classic 2009.
Where in the World is this World Classic 2009 Game going to be played? Seems to me the use of the term "Classic" even in rules of baseball like the rules of literature should adhere to certain norms and standards.
Since when does a Series of baseball games garner the rights to be called a "World Classic?"
Well folks it is not a Game and it is not a Classic in the real sense of the word it is the playing of a series of baseball games with teams from around the World which amounts to being a Baseball International Series.
Here is where this theoretical Classic game will be played and it would be one whale of a game if it could be played as a World Classic in seven stadiums in seven cities of the World as one game.
It could even be called one of the Seven Wonders of The World.
Learning about baseball includes the art of knowing what is going on in every aspect of the game who what where and when plus having on hand all the neccesary baseball equipment, baseball bats and playing by the baseball rules.
World Classic 2009 and beyond come on!
Here is where this mythical game is to be played.
- Tokyo Dome--Tokyo, Japan
- Foro Soro Stadium--Mexico City, Mexico
- Rogers Centre--Toronto, Canada
- Hiram Bithorn Stadium--San Juan, Puerto Rico
- Petco Park--San Diego, California
- Dolphin Stadium--Miami, Florida
- Dodger Stadium--Los Angeles, California
This "Baseball International Series" will consist of sixteen (16) Nations competing in a round robin Major League Baseball tournament starting March 5, 2009 and ending in a final championship game in Los Angeles, California on March 23,2009.
The sixteen (16) National Teams divided into four (4) pools of four (4) teams per pool. Should make for quite a Baseball International Series.

Call it what you will the Baseball Classic 2009 is the playing of a Baseball International Series or an International Baseball Series
Here is a very interesting footnote for the World Baseball Classic 2009.
Footnote:
1)For the second time going the year 2006 and now the year 2009 was won both times by Japan. How about them apples sports fans?
2)Nary a Jones nor a Smith name was found on the roster depicting the All Stars or most valuable players for the Baseball World Classic 2009.
All-WBC team or the called World Baseball Classic 2009:
Position Player C Ivan Rodriguez-Puerto Rico 1B Tae-Kyun Kim-South Korea 2B José López-Venezuela SS Jimmy Rollins-USA 3B Bum-Ho Lee-South Korea OF Norichika Aoki-Japan OF Frederich Cepeda-Cuba OF Yoennis Cespedes-Cuba DH Hyun-Soo Kim-South Korea P Jung-Keun Bong-SouthKorea P Hisashi Iwakuma-Japan P Daisuke Matsuzaka-Japan
The World it is a turning and it is a changing.
The dominance of USA in the playing of our game of Baseball has taken truly an International flavor and it will soon be claimed and recognized as Baseball International Series supplanting America's Baseball World Series.
Baseball International Series 2009 being introduced as a World Baseball Classic 2009 is a Baseball International Series 2009 any way you slice it.
