Minor League Baseball is a generic term universally known and understood through out the baseball world for all of the professionsl baseball leagues and teams playing below the two Major Leagues level of Baseball.
These baseball Leagues are in fact, the baseballfarming by the teams playing, filled with players which in actuallity make up the baseballfarming farm system for all of professional baseball.
Minor League Baseball is the governing body for all professional baseball teams in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean that are affiliated with Major League Baseball through their farm systems would you not call that Baseballfarming?
The National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues, now known as the Minor Leagues , was formed on September 5, 1901 from a meeting of Minor League executives at the Leland Hotel in Chicago. The President of the Eastern League, Patrick T. Powers, was elected as the first President of the NAPBL.
Fourteen leagues and 96 clubs were members during the first season in 1902. The first NA office was established in Auburn, NY, under President Powers and successfully run by Secretary-Treasurer John H. Farrell.
By the time Powers left office in 1909, there were 35 leagues and 246 clubs.
The current Minor Leagues Office is located in St. Petersburg, Florida which is a fun loving destination point. With 176 teams in the United States, Canada and Mexico, fans are coming out in unprecedented numbers to this one-of-kind experience that happily is found at our bseball ballparks.

The official name for the organization for which all these Minor League Teams in professional baseball belong to the National Association Professional Baseball Leagues.

Regular season attendance in 2007 was 42,812,812, setting a new all-time record for the fourth consecutive season.
Total regular season attendance has increased in 23 of the last 27 seasons and has surpassed 33 million for 14 straight years, a level not attained since the late 1940s when membership consisted of more than 50 leagues and more than 400 teams.
